Jimmy Choo unveils a women and dogs accessories capsule collection in collaboration with the artist Rafael Mantesso
Some time ago, on IWWD we talked about the strange story about Rafael Mantesso and his dog, a bull terrier called Jimmy Choo. The images of the dog, mixed with illustrations by Rafael on white walls in his house have been very well known on instagram. They had such a big success that Sandra Choi, creative director of Jimmy Choo, heard about them. And we guess that apart from liking Mantesso’s creative work, she also liked the dog’s name, Jimmy Choo, just like the brand.
Finally, both parties ended up working together. And you can see the results: a capsule collection of bags, wallets and mobile covers with printings of the dog Jimmy Choo plus the distinctive graphics by Rafael Mantesso. The collection Choo Hound also includes premium collars.
The collection is being unveiled all over the world with a big success, for example, people like Leigh Lezark or Allison Williams attended to the press day. The brand created a set designed by Rafael Mantesso, who I’m sure is now thanking himself the great idea of calling his dog like he did and signed him up on instagram. [iwwd]
