A pill to avoid fleas and ticks
Sunny weather has arrived and with it, also ticks. So the other day I visited the veterinary to get the annual antiparisitic drugs. That’s to say, shampoo, collar and also those pipettes that are used on the skin. I live in the countryside so every precaution must be taken.
But this year I asked my veterinarian if there were any other option. One of my dogs has very long hair and I think all the liquid stays on her hair, leaving it ugly and oily. The vet quickly brought a box of Bravecto. She told me that is was a bit expensive, but very effective.
It’s a chewable tablet that avoid fleas and ticks for 3 months and immediately. There are 5 different sizes, depending on the weight of your dog.
It works thanks to the active principle Fluralaner, a new ectoparasiticide from the isoxazolone group.
This invention has been on the market since April 2014. But now it’s getting more well-known. According the vet, “ticks are instantly dried with Bravecto”.
And I don’t think the price is high, as it lasts for 3 months: for dogs between 2 and 4,5 kilos, 20,5 euros; between 4,5 and 10 kilos, 22 euros; between 10 and 20 kilos, 25 euros; between 20 and 40 kilos, 28 euros; between 40 and 56 kilos, 30 euros. [iwwd]
